How to ask
Write to support@sipword.com from the email address of your account, with the subject “Delete my Sipword account”. Writing from that address is how we know the request is yours. You don't need the app for this.
We delete the account within 30 days, usually much sooner, and reply when it is done.
What is deleted
- your account: email address and password hash;
- every word, with its sentence, source, definition, notes, tags and review history;
- your lists and every signed-in device.
Nothing is kept in our database afterwards. The only trace is in the web server's access logs, which hold IP addresses but no words or emails and are deleted after 14 days anyway. Learning progress and settings in the app were never on our server; uninstalling the app removes them.
Before you ask
- Want a copy first? The browser extension exports your whole library as JSON: Settings → Export as JSON.
- Only want to remove some words? Delete them one by one in the app or the extension — no request needed.
- Never added an email? Then the account is anonymous and only your device can reach it. Sign out in the app (Account) or the extension (Settings → Sign out): that removes the words from the device, and the server copy is deleted automatically after 90 days without a sync.
